About us

ForA is a non-profit cultural project focused on the critical analysis of architecture, based in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Its focus on the city, contemporary thought, urban planning, and its intersection with other disciplines are the foundation for this project's consolidation for creative practice.

Established in 2021 by Jorge Alberto Muñoz, Ximena Lazo, Álvaro Núñez, Juan Newton, Magui Peredo, Salvador Macías, Luis Aldrete, Patrick Charpenel, and Rafael Plascencia, ForA is located in the former headquarters of the Western Textile Chamber (Architect José E. Quiñonez Verduzco, 1977), a building recently remodeled to house spaces for cultural exchange. This building features a main auditorium, an exhibition area, and recreational spaces with a café and bar, all designed to expand and continue the dialogue created by the meetings held there.

Its programming is divided into three main areas: courses, exhibitions, and a public program.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

At ForA, we believe that critical thinking about architecture should not be a privilege, but a shared right. Therefore, we are committed to building an open, accessible, and educational space. We know that ideas need support to grow, which is why we seek to support independent research, initiatives with social impact, and new voices.
